GIVE LIFE

Dear ALL,

This weekend, America honors those who have died in our nation’s service. American Red Cross Blood Services joins you in paying tribute to our fallen servicemembers. Our blood donation program began in 1941 to provide blood for American troops wounded in World War II. Our civilian blood program began six years later.
As Memorial Day approaches, we hope you will consider going online or picking up the phone to make your next appointment to donate blood. This is the time of year when we have the most difficulty recruiting blood donors. Schools and colleges, which host many blood drives, are letting out for the summer. Families are going on vacation. People get out of the habit of donating blood.

The need for blood never takes a vacation. We still want to support the child with leukemia, the adult cancer patient, the trauma or burn victim, and others who need blood every day. Please remember to donate blood this summer. Your blood may save someone’s life. It takes less than an hour.

To make your appointment today, please visit GIVE LIFE or call 1.800.GIVE.LIFE.

Thank you.
